(1) Drafting: If Ajanta is called 'mine of drafting' then it would not be an exaggeration. To decorate the caves of Ajanta, to fill the empty spaces, artists have painted designs similar to the paintings related to Lord Buddha on the main entrances, roofs, pillars etc. of the caves. Not only this, drawings with decorative touches have also been made on clothes, crowns, jewelery etc. as per the need. In these drawings, the painter has used beautiful forms, animals, birds, flowers and creepers, in which monkeys, Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn, deer, Mahisha, swan, parrot and duck have been depicted with their natural freedom.
